You’ve probably seen our recent series on AI, where we documented various ways this cutting-edge technology can boost your app development productivity and enhance the intelligence of your applications. Well, after dropping several hints, we’re excited to reveal the pinnacle of Generative AI capabilities—AgilePoint now supports the creation of entire process applications, complete with forms, conditions, human-in-the-loop steps, and integrations!
This major milestone represents the culmination of years of effort from our product team, and we can’t wait to hear your thoughts.
How Does This Work?
If you’ve read our earlier blog posts on using Generative AI to create form-based applications, you might already have a good idea. These capabilities took time to refine and still play a key role in building complete processes.
It all begins with a prompt describing the application you want to build. From there, our Large Language Model (LLM) takes over, suggesting a number of human-centric process steps that might be included in the application. But don’t worry, you can always refine the suggestions by adding new steps (such as system integrations and emails) or reclassifying a suggestion from one activity type to another. Just like processes built the old-fashioned way, using Generative AI doesn’t limit you to a linear process model. It still supports branching, conditions, and parallel processing!
Next, AgilePoint will ask if you’d like to automatically create forms for human steps in the business process. If you choose to, it will guide you through the creation of a Data Entity, allowing changes as needed, and finally, prompt you to design your user interface forms.
Oooh, Forms! I Know How This Works!
To create the form itself, you’ll have various options:
- A prompt or description of the form
- Images, including screenshots from existing legacy applications
- PDFs that seem to circulate around the office on their own
- Excel sheets that undoubtedly live on someone’s desktop
Once your process model, data entity, and forms have taken shape, feel free to add rules, integrate systems, and configure participants for each task. Then you’re all set!
Still skeptical? Check out the short video below. As always, we look forward to your comments.
Please note that this video is recorded while this feature is in limited-preview beta version. Some of the labels and icons might change by the time it goes GA but the general concept of generating an app would remain the same.
